I think that our communication skills and art have develop hand in hand since the beginning of time, and go along the development and growth of our civilization. The better we came to understand and make use of nature, added more time freed from our struggle to survive, and was freed for art and science. Art is most definitely a form of communication although some may not be pleasant or beautiful if it conveys a message it communicates to people. This thought led me to have an interest in figuring out the history of art and how it worked with the history of communication as well. I asked myself questions like why did the cave man paint the walls? My answer? It allowed him to pass on information, which could possibly last over many generations.
